We present in-plane optical study on Tl$_{2}$Ba$_{2}$CuO$_{6+\delta}$ single crystals with substantially different $T_c$. The study reveals that the overdoping does not lead to a further increase of the carrier density but a decrease of scattering rate. We report the in-plane optical measurements on Na$_x$CoO$_2$ with 0.18$\leq$x$\leq$0.92. The crystal growth and characterization were described in detail. The spectral weight increases monotonically with decreasing x. For sample with the lowest Na content x$\sim$0.18, the optical conductivity was strongly suppressed below 2200 $cm^{-1}$ at low temperature. [texts]Optical evidence for mass enhancement of quasiparticles in pyrochlore Cd$_2$Re$_2$O$_7$ - N. L. Wang
We report on the results of optical studies of the newly discovered superconductor Cd$_2$Re$_2$O$_7$ in the normal state. We show that the compound has an exotic metallic state at low temperature. The optical conductivity spectrum exhibits two distinct features: a sharp renormalized resonance mode at zero frequency and a broad mid-infrared excitation band. Detailed analysis reveals a moderate enhancement of the effective mass at low temperature and low frequency.

We present optical spectroscopy measurements on rare-earth ditelluride single crystals of LaTe$_{1.95}$ and CeTe$_{1.95-x}$Se$_x$ (x=0 and 0.16). Millimeter-sized single crystals of LaFeAsO were grown from NaAs flux and the in-plane optical properties were studied over a wide frequency range. We have measured the effect of oxygen isotope substitution on the ab-plane reflectance of underdoped YBCO. The frequency shift of the transverse optic phonons due to the substitution of O-16 by O-18 yields an isotope effect of the expected magnitude for copper-oxygen stretching modes with alpha=0.5 +- 0.1. The reflectance shoulder at 400 - 500 cm^-1 shows a much smaller exponent of alpha=0.1 +- 0.1 in the normal state and alpha=0.23+- 0.1 in the superconducting state...

We report infrared spectra of a Na$_{0.5}$CoO$_2$ single crystal which exhibits a sharp metal-insulator transition near 50 K due to the formation of charge ordering. In comparison with x=0.7 and 0.85 compounds, we found that the spectral weight associated with the conducting carriers at high temperature increases systematically with decreasing Na contents. The charge ordering transition only affects the optical spectra below 1000 cm$^{-1}$...

We present measurements of the optical spectra on Na$_{0.7}$CoO$_2$ single crystals.
